Drawing on the ATDI rankings, regional analysis, and expert insights, this focused exploration investigates the adventure tourism landscape of top emerging and developing countries in the APAC region, highlighting their strengths and areas for improvement. In the larger Adventure Tourism Development Index (ATDI) report, APAC countries with advanced economies (New Zealand, Japan, Australia, Singapore, South Korea) dominate the top spots. However, the remaining 36 countries in APAC are also important in the adventure tourism industry, so this report breaks this large region into the smaller areas of East & Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia, and the South Pacific Island nations, to allow for more discussion of each.
