Transformational travel is any travel experience that empowers people to make meaningful, lasting changes in their life and positive impact in the world around them. Ultimately, it’s a philosophy on travel that connects travellers to their truest self and to others, cultivating a sense of purpose and belonging. It is often identified as a missing link in today’s social purpose and sustainability movements. It is about regeneration of self, planet, and people.

If the adventure travel community of professionals is to contribute to travel being a force for good, it is not enough to simply execute exceptional experiences for travelers. The greatest opportunity travel holds is to use its gifts to create positive change in our lives, in our communities, and in the world. In this webinar, we will preview the new OnlineEDU self-paced course that provides travel professionals with practical tools and knowledge to design transformational travel experiences.

This 1-hour webinar will provide a preview of the self-paced course available to anyone by briefly summarizing:

  • The foundational principles and scientific theories that contribute to what we now call “Transformational Travel”
  • How to craft a compelling and inspirational traveler roadmap to connect the traveler to the journey
  • The TTC Transformation Design Principles and Guiding Practices for Transformation Design and the practical applications of those principles
  • The TTC foundational tools of P.A.T.H. and H.E.A.R.T. and how to use them in your work
  • Overviews of a few of the areas impacted by Transformational Travel and how to ensure those impacts are as positive as they can be

About The Expert

A lifetime of seeking in nature and around the world has taught Tanner one important thing: our lives are not ours alone and there is no end to what we can learn. As the co-owner, along with his wife Kolena, of Travel Life Adventures he seeks to create space where personal transformations can take place for travelers, and to work with and support communities in creating sustainable and empowering tourism programs and infrastructure. It is time for travel to be an agent of positive change instead of a tool of exploitation. Tanner has been working in travel and tourism for almost 10 years in various roles and capacities. He has been a travel designer, guide, and consultant. Currently, he is the Director of Product Innovation and Education Transformational Travel Council where he is responsible for the creation, implementation, and maintenance of products and educational programs.
